Open Garden Day NYC - August 1

GreenThumb will host a series of virtual garden tours and activities across the five boroughs throughout the week leading up to Open Garden Day and on August 1st from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. (rain or shine). Due to the City's cancellation of large public events, and to ensure the health and safety of the public and our partners, GreenThumb's Open Garden Day NYC has been rescheduled to a week long virtual celebration.

We are inviting any GreenThumb garden members who feel comfortable in doing so, and are able, to give a garden tour through photographs and/or video. We will share these virtual garden tours with the public on our social media pages during our week long celebration for Open Garden Day NYC. Please make sure to follow social distancing guidelines and reference our guidelines listed in Best Practices for Community Gardening during COVID-19 (Prácticas Adecuadas para la Jardinería Comunitariaon our website. Please send your virtual garden tour to: greenthumbinfo@parks.nyc.gov via wetransfer.com.

If your GreenThumb garden group is interested in participating in this virtual Open Garden Day by sending us a video of a garden tour or an activity, like a cooking demo, arts & craft, musical performance, please contact Twywana Bush, Project Coordinator at: Twywana.Bush@parks.nyc.gov for more information or sign up by completing the form at bit.ly/OpenGardenDay2020 by July 17, 2020.
