POSTPONED: 36th Annual GreenThumb GrowTogether Conference

UPDATE: The World Health Organization has declared the COVID-19 disease, known as the coronavirus, a pandemic. Due to this, GreenThumb GrowTogether will not occur on April 4th and 5th. We are currently exploring options to reschedule GrowTogether, and will share new information as soon as possible. You can learn more about best practices and how to help stop the spread of the coronavirus on the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Coronavirus webpage.

Join NYC Parks GreenThumb as we celebrate our 36th annual GrowTogether conference on April 4th and 5th to kick off the community gardening season in New York City! Now two days, this conference will be packed with workshops on garden related topics including growing techniques, community organizing, composting, a seed swap (bring your seeds to share!), panel discussions, and much more!

We are excited to announce this year's GrowTogether Conference will feature a Keynote Address by Leah Penniman at the opening ceremony on Saturday, April 4th and a closing address by Toshi Reagon on Sunday, April 5th!!

Penniman is a Black Kreyol educator, farmer/peyizan, author, and food justice activist from Soul Fire Farm, which she co-founded in 2010, with the mission to end racism in the food system and reclaim our ancestral connection to land.

Toshi Reagon is a talented and versatile singer, composer, musician, curator, and producer. She will close out the GrowTogether conference with an address about how community gardeners sow the seeds of renewal and hope in a changing world.
