Register for GrowTogether 2019

Join NYC Parks GreenThumb as we celebrate our 35th annual GrowTogether Conference and kicking-off the community gardening season in New York City! The day will be packed with workshops on garden related topics and activities including a seed swap (bring your seeds to share!), kids’ activities, vegetable growing techniques, and new lunchtime meetups and intensives. Gardeners who bring their hydrant letter from GreenThumb may be eligible to get their hydrant permit from DEP on the spot!

Please call (212) 602-5300 to make an appointment to come to GreenThumb's office, Monday through Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

GrowTogether will be free this year, but lunch will not be provided with the free ticket. However, you can purchase a bagged lunch, that includes a sandwich, salad, cookie, and water, from CUNY’s caterer in advance and pick it up on site. Vegan lunches will be available.

Lunch will not be sold on the day of the event and must be purchased in advanced.

This year's GrowTogether Conference will feature a keynote address by Onika Abraham - the director of Farm School NYC, which offers adults comprehensive, professional training in sustainable agriculture that is grounded in social and food justice. A farmer and educator with more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit management, Onika completed the Farm and Garden Apprenticeship and Certificate in Ecological Horticulture at the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems (CASFS) in Santa Cruz, CA. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University and an MBA in marketing and entrepreneurship from Baruch University. Onika is a founding member of Black Urban Growers, and she lives and gardens in beautiful Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn with her husband and son.
