Design and Placekeeping (Part 1 of 2)
Thursday, March 19, 2020
6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
Placekeeping and placemaking are a collaborative, hands-on process centered on the care and maintenance of a place and its social fabric by community members.
In this two-part workshop series, you will learn how to incorporate these principles into your garden and how to creatively tackle your design challenge with some practical guidelines that you can use with your group and the communities you serve. Part I will discuss placemaking and placekeeping as processes that can be applied to creating more inclusive public spaces and keeping cultural memories of the garden alive by working collectively.
Please note: Pre-registration is required; please RSVP on Eventbrite or by calling (212) 602-5300. Please bring a photo ID and allow time to get through security.
