Using Plants as Dyes
Saturday, August 24, 2019
11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Please note: This event has already taken place. Please use the Browse and Search options on the right to find upcoming events.
Facilitated by Mark Leger (Phoenix Community Garden), East New York Farms!, and GreenThumb
Many of the beautiful plants that we grow in the garden can also be used to color yarn and cloth. Orange cosmos make vibrant golds. Marigolds make yellow. Purple basil makes olive green. And that’s just the beginning!
This workshop will cover how to plan a dye plant garden, and you will have an opportunity to dye your own yarn and/or silk scarf. You may also bring your own item (cotton, wool, or silk) to dye!
Please RSVP on Eventbrite.
