Open Garden Day NYC: Reclaiming Ancestral Knowledge: Fermenting Caribbean Fruits and Vegetables

Facilitated by Yadira Garcia and Adriano Espaillat, Jr. (Happy Healthy Latina), and GreenThumb

Learn how to ferment fruits and vegetables from the garden to make vinegar, pickles, and other tasty garnishes. This workshop will include a hands-on cooking demonstration and tasting in a culturally rich, nutritious, and delicious educational experience for all ages. We will use and celebrate what we plant in community gardens and supplement from a local farmers market.

This event is part of the second annual GreenThumb Open Garden Day NYC, when community gardens across the city will open their gates for a day of special programming and activities. 

This workshop will be offered with Spanish translation.
