Get to know gardens and farms in the Bronx with a walking tour! The Belmont neighborhood is home to a very diverse group of farmers and entrepreneurs, including La Familia Verde Coalition, a network of five community gardens which operates a Tuesday farmer’s market.
First, we’ll visit the Clinton Avenue Community Garden. Next, we’ll have lunch in the Garden of Youth, a garden dedicated to providing agricultural learning opportunities for our children and youth. Finally, we’ll end at Garden of Happiness, one of the oldest community gardens in the Bronx (founded in 1988) for a tour of their long-standing casita, greenhouse, and chicken coop.
